Dittberner conducts proprietary market research and management consulting assignments in response to its clients' needs. It also regularly initiates a number of multi-client studies on issues critical to the development of the telecommunications industry. The following examples illustrate the scope of our activities and expertise.

Here are a few examples of proprietary studies and consulting projects Dittberner has conducted. Find also a sample list of reports to get a better overview of the type of services we can offer you.

  • Telefonos de Mexico (Telmex)
Forecasting of the requirements for all types of data services for the entire country of Mexico over the next decade, including recommendations on new services which should be implemented, and the likely impact competition would have on selected data services.

  • Federal Communications Commission
Evaluation of the impact of deregulation of subscriber station equipment. This study involved an analysis of the technology innovations likely to occur with deregulation of the sale and rental of subscriber station equipment. It included recommendations on how to accomplish the interconnection of subscriber-owned station equipment with the public telephone network, and finally, a detailed plan for the implementation of the recommendations, as a regulatory strategy for the FCC (these recommendations are largely followed by the FCC).

  • White House Office of Telecommunications Policy
Developed a more extensive, detailed analysis of the balance of benefits to the various industrial players in the field of voice and data subscriber station equipment, the likely impact on international balance of trade, and the possible role of the Executive Branch (White House) in implementing "Interconnection".

  • U.S. Department of Commerce
Undertook a more detailed analysis of the likely impact of the deregulation of subscriber station equipment through the FCC Interconnection Rulings, and the specific balance of trade by equipment category that would likely result over the next decade.

  • Major Asian Telecom Operator (NTT)
Dittberner Associates completed more than 20 studies analyzing individual opportunities for the establishment of services and/or service facilities beyond that normally provided by a monopoly telecommunications operator. The objective was to identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities and also, most importantly, to find new businesses which would utilize redundant personnel as this firm approached the end of the backlog of waiting telephony subscribers. For several years, our firm received more consulting projects and revenues from this organization than any other consulting firm.
