carrier grade switches and routers

DITTBERNER’s Carrier Grade Switches and Routers Program profiles all major suppliers in these segments. The quarterly market share analysis covers worldwide switches and routers markets in terms of units shipped and revenue by vendors, by equipment (switches, routers), network (core, edge) and protocol interface (IP, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, Multi-Service).

The program also provides the regional breakdown of these shipments in greater detail with comprehensive installed base information of routers and switches by supplier, by country and by operator. DITTBERNER provides users of this service with fully interactive spreadsheets including actual and historical shipments.

The router market has grown by 69% over the past two years. As recently as 2005 only Cisco and Juniper had over $1B in annual router revenue and their combined market share was 77%. In 2007 the top four vendors all realized more than $1B in router revenue. Cisco continued to dominate the router market, but saw its share slip slightly. Juniper and Alcatel-Lucent also saw their share dip, while Huawei’s share grew strongly throughout 2007, almost placing them third for the whole year. NEC’s share was down slightly, while the remainder of the field’s shares increased.
