James Heath is the Director of Broadband research at Dittberner Associates. Dittberner has been in business for 40 years, and counts many of the global Tier 1 service providers and equipment suppliers as customers including, NTT, France telecom, Deutsche Telecom, and Sprint, as well as Huawei, Cisco, and Siemens Communications. James handles research in Broadband Access and Switches and Routers.

Working with both ILECs and MSOs on new local broadband services has given James Heath exposure to all areas of the broadband access market. He worked with equipment provider Nortel in the fiber-to-the-home and DSL markets. He has worked with MSOs on new two-way full-speed teleconferencing services and with RBOCs on the next generation local exchange network. He believes that a good understanding of the fundamental drivers of the consumer market is essential to understanding the growth in the residential and small business market for IPTV and for Metro Ethernet Services.

James Heath was educated as a radio engineer and worked many years in fiber optics. He worked at Nortel Networks as the Optical Engineering Design Manager, the Global Marketing manager for ATM Multiservice switches, the Manufacturing Manager for GSM Base Stations, and the Marketing Manager for, DSL and FTTH.
